Professional activities. 2014 – now, Full-Professor for Animal Science, Faculty of Science and Technology, Bolzano, Italy. 2003 – 2014, Full-Professor for Livestock production systems, University of Göttingen. 1998 – 2003, Assistant Professor at the Institute of Animal Breeding and Genetics, University of Gießen.

Research: The main interests are the use of functional traits in breeding and the relations between animal health, welfare and production systems.
