Research activity

His PhD project, within the EU project INTERFUTURE aims to assess the efficacy of protein- and sugar-based molecules to reduce the tomato late blight symptoms caused by Phytophthora infestans and to characterize the molecular basis of their mode of action. During His Master Thesis he was working on the characterization of two proteins involved in the interaction between Castanea sativa (chestnuts) and Phytophthora cinnamomi.

Research interests

Phytopathology, Plant physiology; Biopesticides, Plant genomics; Industrial Biotechnology; Molecular plant - pathogen interactions
