Gerardo Puopolo

Dr Gerardo Puopolo is a senior researcher at FEM. His research focuses on a new biofungicide based on bacterial strains of Lysobacter capsici. After his PhD in Plant Pathology at the University “Federico II” (Italy), he worked as Post-doc and as a visiting scholar at the University of Arizona and at the Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech,University of Liège,Belgium. He is experienced in biological control of plant pathogens, microbial ecology and molecular microbiology. His research led to a European patent and to 31 scientific papers (ISI). He has supervised eight undergraduate students, two PhD students and one Postdoc. Currently, he is supervising two PhD students.
