Research | Daily modern pollen monitoring on the glacier
A Hirst-type pollen sampler was set on the Cima Presena, at 3000 m asl. to perform a daily pollen monitoring.
A precise knowledge of the current atmospheric pollen load in the region and on the glacier is fundamental for a correct interpretation of the pollen assemblages in the ice.
The gained data will allow a current understanding of pollen recruitment in glacier ice, allowing a better calibration and interpretation of pollen deposition on glaciers.
