fruitomics | Objectives

The objective of the Research Infrastructure (RI) is to reinforce certain essential modules of FRUITOMICS, a sustainable infrastructure and centre of excellence for research and training in food science, environment and agriculture with high international visibility, thanks to its multidisciplinary approach. It is capable of generating new knowledge, integrating research currently fragmented between different sectors within the context of new cohesive thematic perspectives.

Reinforcement of the RI to support projects will make it possible to merge multidisciplinary knowledge and ideas, and work towards solving the objectives of complex research challenges requiring experiments involving metabolomics and traceability, nutrition and nutrigenomics, computational biology and phenotyping.

The impact of the project, over and beyond the scientific community, will be ensured by networking with national stakeholders: providing scientific consultancy, technical support and collaboration in common R&D projects at national and international level, and will reinforce existing capacity, which implies that the new infrastructure will avoid the duplication of existing instrumentation.
