Alisia Tognon

She is an architect and Postdoc Researcher at Politecnico di Milano (DAStU), where she also holds her doctorate in Architecture and Urban Design (2016) and acquired specialized skills in restoration and valorization of architectural heritage and urban landscape, attending the Post Graduate School in Architectural and Landscape Heritage (2009- 2011).
Her research activity focuses on investigating the concept of memory, history, and identity related to vernacular architecture. The aim is to understand the role of modification and transformation processes and the substantial importance of intangible cultural heritage in the contemporary age. The research is oriented to the interaction between disciplinary knowledge in urban fabrics and landscapes characterized by under-use, degradation, or abandonment processes. She deepened her research as visiting Ph.D. at the University of California - Berkeley (USA, 2013) and Oxford Brookes University (UK, 2014).
Since 2017 she has been an Adjunct Professor at Politecnico di Milano, where from 2009, she has been working in collaboration with, partaking in contract work, research projects (PRIN, FARB, …), workshops, and international conferences.
In 2019 she won a Research and Teaching Fellowship at Cept University (Ahmedabad, India), working on regeneration and valorization of Indian architectural heritage and historic urban landscape in the Walled City of Ahmadabad.
Her work has appeared in several international publications, including book chapters, journal articles, and international conference papers.
